Amorphic Robotic Works

Description:

http://briankane.net/amorphic/
An excellent site for viewing installations and sculptures using robotics. There are many fascinating pieces,
a real treat. The sight includes jpeg files to open and. The use of technology in creating futuristic forms is inspiring. The visuals of installations are also clear and sequential.

Applications:

These images would be a good starting point for introducing robotics as an art form. The fact
that the artists include drawings and technical information would give the students a sense of the
processes involved in creating their own pieces.

American Visions/Journeys through Art: Act One
Blastervare/1994 Eden Interactive
This is an interactive CD. It is of the Roy R. Neuberger collection.
All of the artwork in this collection is 20th Century American. It is very comprehensive (over 200 pieces).
Included are brief descriptions of the work by the artist and a statement by Neuberger about the piece &/or artist.
The Artwork can be accessed alphabetically, chronologically and by schools or styles. The diversity of artists
and artwork by Americans is awesome. The program is easy to browse through and the connections are well linked.

Implications:

Arts Standard 9.1K

On a Primary Elementary level this CD is better used as a teaching tool, rather than a browsing tool. Intermediate level students could use this as a resource guide for research on Artists' styles as a guided activity. Middle and High School students may be able to use this for browsing.
All levels, as well as the teacher, can benefit from this CD as a valuable resource for 20th Century American Artwork.
