The digital Art Salon is a private organization that showcases art produced using digital
media. Clips of each artist's work, as well as their private e-mail addresses, are featured here.
Inspiration will abound as the spectrum of styles is viewed. The possibilities of this new
media could be extended beyond the computer screen to galleries, fashion design, photographic
displays, collage, etc. The students will embrace this new form of art because of their comfort
with the computer and their desire to move beyond the constraints of traditional mediums.
This site can be located this site at DigitalSalon.com.

The kinetic Energy isn't just for mobiles anymore! Carnegie Mellon University's site at http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~suguru/reappdoc/studentprojects.html
uses typography and computer generated motion to provoke the viewers thoughts. Statements,
phrases and letters dance, bounce and glide across the screen using QuickTime. Fonts change
and fade to suit. A familiar piece is from Shel Silverstein's "Boa Constrictor". The letters
flash across the screen in such a way that the pictures will take a place in the mind .
"Nice Day 1&2(86k & 215k)" are some of the short pieces that will give a positive mindset.

IMPLICATIONS

Some possible uses of these sites are 1) viewing then drawing  2)projecting onto a surface behind or on dancers 3)including the
pieces in video clips. This is reminiscent of speed reading classes and will allow the student to
take the place they live (the computer age) into the graphic and performing arts.
