The sculpture students emphasized their
individual experiences through their work. They
approached the creative process by developing
preliminary ideas, practice pieces and create as
they carve. These works are critiqued to explore
the dynamics and sensitivity

In the ceramics studio, the students were
focusing on the technical aspects of the clay. This
was important before they could advance to a more
aesthetic response to the clay. A research
assignment will be completed by the students to
introduce them to clay as an artform.

The computer arts students defended the position
that computer art is a legitimate artform. They had
to first define what makes a piece of work art.
This was the one area where the most aesthetic
response to art had occured.

Reflections
|
The sculpture teacher stressed the importance of
the electives program that has the students
involved in learning disciplines not their
strengths. The students begin to see how all the
arts interlock. They gain an understanding and
appreciation for the other art forms including the
hard work and dedication involved.
