Early Rise

 

chills run up my arm.

the cool air surrounding.

dew on the grass,

and under my shoes.

slipping up the hill,

i catch sight of the sky.

rush of color.

glowing hues stretch across,

laid piece by piece,

perfectly painted.

breathing in familiar scent,

anticipation for fall.

leaves anxious to change.

the faint moon,

still rests above and behind.

barely awake,

i reach the top,

with appreciation.
