Notes:
A theme and variations of My Country Tis of Thee, the theme and first variation is sweeter to resemble a beauty reflected in the freedom we enjoy. The second variation is a switch to a jollier feel, as a celebration of our freedom. But then things change, as the piece switches into a minor cadenza. This last variation is meant to reflect the suffering and war that we have faced in our history and the lives lost for this nation.
